For Boro Fans, This Season’s On Midnite

We gave Middlesbrough supporters one shot at a target full of prizes. Miss? No bother. David Wheater was waiting to take the second.

One ball.

One football target.

One chance to win a prize.

That was it.

No forms. No quiz. No need to prove you know Juninho isn’t a coffee order.

Just put the ball down and take your shot.

Hit the Target. Win a Prize.

To celebrate our partnership with Middlesbrough, we brought This Season’s On Us to Boro fans.

The challenge was simple: get the ball through one of the holes in our football target and win the prize behind it.

Simple on paper, anyway.

Because the second you put a ball down in front of a crowd, the target starts looking smaller, your run-up starts feeling weird and everyone suddenly has an opinion on your technique.

Some fans buried it, some went close, some landed one in Sunderland. But missing didn’t mean it was over.

Every fan had backup.

If their shot missed, Middlesbrough legend David Wheater stepped up and took another one for them.

One fan. One shot.

Then, if needed, one very large centre-half trying to rescue the prize.

Yes, we asked a defender to sort out the finishing.

No, we don’t see the problem.

If Wheater hit the target, the fan still won. Which meant every attempt came with a second chance, and a little more pressure on the man who spent most of his career stopping goals rather than sticking them through holes in a giant target.

No Easy Tap-Ins

The mechanic was simple. The reactions weren’t.

There were clean finishes. Painful near misses. Celebrations that suggested someone had just scored at the Riverside. And the occasional effort that looked much better in the fan’s head than it did once it left their boot.

Proper football, then.

And when a shot did fly wide, there was Wheater waiting to step in… no awkward consolation speech, no “thanks for taking part”. Just give the ball to the Boro legend and go again.

More Than a Logo on a Shirt

Our name might be on the front of the Middlesbrough shirt, but that shouldn’t be the beginning and end of the partnership.

Boro fans don’t need another sponsor telling them it’s “proud to be on the journey”.

They need something worth turning up for.

Something they can have a go at.

Something they’ll still be talking about on the way home, especially if David Wheater has just rescued their afternoon by slapping one into the top corner.

That’s what This Season’s On Us is about.

Real fans. Proper prizes. And a second chance courtesy of a man who knows exactly what it means to wear the shirt.

Our First Shot with Boro

This was our first activation with Middlesbrough, but rest assured we’re only getting started.

There’s a big season ahead, and we plan on showing up for it properly.

Up the Boro.
