VALORANT Betting Tips: Your Guide To Making Predictions
A guide to betting on VALORANT, including VALORANT betting tips, bonuses, free bets and how to make good VALORANT predictions
By Phoebe Dua
Whether you’re an esports fanatic or a first-time FPS fan, finding reliable VALORANT betting tips is easier than it seems.
Just like betting on football or any other sport or esport, you’ll need to do your research and familiarise yourself with the game as much as possible and, just as you would with football, identify who the best teams and players are.
Consider this a guide for VALORANT betting tips where you’ll find information about leagues, teams, markets to bet on, and everything in between.
Where To Bet On VALORANT
VALORANT is a character-based multiplayer tactical first-person shooter (FPS) game originally released in 2020. Created by Riot Games, the developers of popular MOBA and esport title League of Legends, VALORANT is quickly rising as one of the most popular games and is already seen as a top esports title.
The story of VALORANT is set in the near-future with individuals exposed to Radianite gaining special powers and becoming known as Radiants. With weapons utilising this resource to cause disaster (including the Spike, which is featured in gameplay), the VALORANT Radiants must face alternate universe versions of themselves to prevent reality being distorted further.
Since its official release, the professional esports scene has been growing and developing with involvement from Riot. There are frequent tournaments all over the world.
Each team is composed of four different types of agents, with multiple options for each role and no minimum or maximum of each type. These four roles are Duelists, Sentinels, Initiators, and Controllers. Each one is able to change the game in different ways such as denying vision, clearing out positions, reviving allies or changing positions quickly to catch enemies by surprise.
The game’s esports popularity hinges on its multiplayer capabilities, mind-bending meta plays, fast-paced action, and overall popularity as a casual and esports title.
VALORANT Betting Tips
Two of the most important things about the VALORANT betting process are research and knowing the markets to bet on. Without those, you’re likely to have a miserable time betting on the game as you’ll lack the knowledge to truly progres, even though you may be armed with VALORANT betting tips.
VALORANT Predictions
The key to making successful VALORANT predictions is all about conducting quality research first. The more well-versed you are in competitive VALORANT games and the wider scene, the more likely you are to land successful bets in the future.
‘Research’ is somewhat of a vague term, however, as there’s several areas you can read up on and improve your knowledge in. These areas include, but are not limited, to:
- Being aware of upcoming tournaments
- Checking team rankings
- Reading up on match histories
- Researching who the best individual players are
Let’s take a look at these areas in more detail.
VALORANT Tournaments
VALORANT tournament structure is easy to follow due to the VALORANT Champions Tour circuit. Partner teams in three regions, EMEA, Americas and Pacific, play against each other throughout the year to qualify for the big international events.
The biggest of these events is the VALORANT Champions. Only the best teams from the respective regions will qualify to fight for their slice of the $1,000,000 USD prize pool. The winner of VALORANT Champions takes the lion’s share of $300,000, but even teams finishing last will add $15,000 to their pockets.
Many eyes will be on the VCT Americas League as current VALORANT World Champions LOUD are one of the partner teams in the region. As well as the Brazilians, a lot of fan favourite organisations are also present in 100 Thieves, Cloud9 and Sentinels.
EMEA is not to be ruled out though as many big name organisations are involved across the pond. FNATIC, Team Liquid, Karmine Corp and Team Heretics are part of the ten-team-strong EMEA League.
The third region hosts the Pacific League, with notable teams from across Asia and Oceania in DRX, Paper Rex and T1.
On top of the main leagues, minor regional leagues within the three regions will make up VALORANT Ascension, a path upwards for domestic prospects. There is also VALORANT Game Changers, the female circuit with many top organisations fielding teams featuring the best women in the world.
While third-party hosted events will continue, the majority of focus in the professional VALORANT scene will be on the VCT circuit moving forward. The biggest games with the most prestige and interest will come from across the vast VALORANT Champions Tour circuit.
Rankings
There is no official ranking system for VALORANT. With competition split into regions across the world, it is hard to rank teams directly compared to other FPS counterparts like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive does.
With the inaugural season of the partnered leagues coming, it is hard to place any teams on a scale from best to worst ahead of VCT. As the meta of which agents may be played shifts, roster changes happen and maps are added or removed from the pool, the strongest teams may not be the same at the start and end of the season.
In professional VALORANT, there is a map veto system which allows teams to pick and ban where they get to play a series. Usually, each team gets to ban one map, pick one map, then ban additional maps to leave one ‘neutral’ battleground for last in a best-of-three series. This means a team showing promise on one map may be denied by other teams choosing to tactically remove it.
Map vetoes are one of the most important things to consider when betting on VALORANT. If a team struggles with many of the meta maps, they might appear strong on paper but be unable to deliver on the server. The same goes for agent picks. While there is not currently agent vetoes, some agents are able to counter another, and entire team compositions could shut out the abilities of certain agents.
The meta ranking of agents plays a big part in how well or poorly a team may do. A more standard team might be well-rounded, but a surprise pick could catch someone off-guard or be met with hard counters that leaves them further down any potential tier list.
In terms of in-game rankings, the majority of professional players will be ranked Radiant. This rank is reserved for only the top 500 players in a region and must be maintained by continuing to play. Falling out of Radiant is a real thing and it must be regained and claimed per Act, which function as two in-game splits within each Season.
The ranking system sees players somewhere on the following scale:
- Iron
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Ascendant
- Immortal
- Radiant
Know The Markets
Once you’re familiar with the game’s fundamentals and you’ve found a team to bet on, you may be curious about the kind of markets you can bet on - and there will be plenty of VALORANT betting tips to see across social media.
Much like conventional sports, VALORANT games offer a wide variety of betting markets, some more niche than others.
If you’re a first-time bettor, then it might be best to stick to the more traditional, simpler markets rather than jump into the deep end straight away.
Match betting
The classic match bet is largely self-explanatory. Punters decide who they think is going to win a match, and bet on them.
Placing well-informed match bets is a great way to build confidence, and as you progress and get to know the game better, you’ll be in a much better position to bet on more intricate markets.
First-kill Betting
Another market at your disposal is the so-called first kill or first-blood market where you can bet on which team will get the first kill.
You can even take this one step further and bet on how many kills a team will get over the course of a game. However, your knowledge of the respective teams will have to be solid if you hope to bet on these markets successfully.
Outright Markets
Betting on VALORANT outrights is slightly more risky, but the potential is certainly there. If you’re confident that a certain team will win a tournament, then you can bet on them to go the distance and enjoy the fruits of the longer odds.
It goes without saying that you’ll need to take time studying the form of your chosen team as well as who their best players are and how you’ll think they’ll fare in front of stiff competition.
VALORANT Live Betting
A much more exhilarating form of VALORANT betting, punters have the chance of placing money on events happening during a match.
This market is sometimes referred to as in-play betting, and should only really be reserved for those with such a deep knowledge they can read the game and anticipate things happening.
There are several markets you can bet your money on, however, you must decide which one is best for your experience level.
VALORANT Betting Tips Summary
It’s best to approach betting on VALORANT just as you would for any other sport. It’s vital that you do your due diligence to ensure you know the game well enough to bet on it, and to only make bets that you genuinely feel could come in. VALORANT tips are all well and good, but you don’t want to make risky stakes without knowing what you are doing first.
It’s also worth watching live streams of competitive games as they happen, as this will give you an idea of the rhythm of the game and identify what the best players do. If possible, checking out official content around the professional scene to see how the meta may shift in the future in regards to maps and agents will also be key in giving yourself an edge.
