Favourites To Reach The Final
When looking at the odds to reach the final, semi-final and quarter-final, a similar pattern emerges but it is one that’s different to the odds to lift the trophy. Again, Brazil are favourites, but in each of these markets, France are second-favourites ahead of Argentina, with England third and Spain fourth. This is because of the draw and the likely route for each team to each stage of the World Cup.
Odds To Reach Final
- Brazil - 5/2
- France - 11/4
- Argentina - 7/2
- England - 4/1
- Spain - 4/1

How Far Will England Go?
England reached the semi-final of World Cup 2018 before reaching the final of Euro 2020 (played in 2021). But how far will Gareth Southgate’s team go in Qatar?
The Three Lions seemingly have a favourable group draw, with Iran, USA and Wales to play and are 9/1 to be knocked out in the group stage. It’s 3/1 that England go out in the last 16 and 2/1 they get sent home in the quarter-finals.
England are 4/1 to get knocked out in the semi-finals and 7/1 to finish runners-up.
What Are Wales’ Chances?
Wales are 33/50 to head home from the group stage, and 2/1 to bow out in the last 16. Rob Page’s team are 41/5 to go out in the quarter-finals and 20/1 to go out in the semi-finals. The odds of Wales finishing runners-up is 60/1.
Top scorers
The old saying goes that a team is as only as good as their strikers, but it's not always the case that the World Cup Golden Boot winner comes from the winning team. In fact, it's a rarity.
Not since 2002, when Ronaldo scored eight goals to win the Golden Boot as Brazil swept to victory in Japan / South Korea, has that happened.
Winning Continent Odds
While two South American teams are favourites to win the World Cup, the Winning Continent market tells a slightly different story, with Europe as the most likely continent to produce the winner, with more perceived depth in quality, with the likes of France, Spain, England and Germany.
Winning Continent Odds:
- Europe 9/25
- South America 2/1
- Rest of the World 18/1
