The 2022 CSGO competitive season is drawing to a close, with BLAST Premier World Final to close out an exciting year for the Valve esports title. With the last three Major champions in attendance, including the IEM Rio 2022 Major winners, the teams attending BLAST Premier World Final 2022 will be looking for a return to glory, continued successes, a break from trophy drought and so much more. There will be a lot of eyes on the teams in Abu Dhabi as the final clashes at the Etihad Arena set the tone for 2023.

BLAST Premier World Final Odds correct at time of publishing.

Heroic | 4.00

Winners of BLAST Premier Fall Finals as the hometown heroes and IEM Rio Major grand finalists, Heroic’s overall consistency throughout 2022 has been paying off. As the competitive year is wrapping up and others struggle, the Danish lineup has been able to capitalise.

Heroic have been within the HLTV top 15 for the entirety of this year and have no weak links in the roster, returning glory to Danish Counter-Strike while the likes of Astralis have fallen off. As the most recent trophy lifters in the BLAST Premier World Final, it is unsurprising to see them as one of the favourites heading to Abu Dhabi. The adjusted map pool taking out their permaban of Dust 2 also puts Heroic in an even stronger position to punish opponents from the veto.

FaZe Clan | 4.30

FaZe Clan were close to taking down Heroic in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals, but had to settle for being the runner-up grand finalists. After an immensely disappointing IEM Rio Major that could have been back-to-back Major titles, the recovery of AWPer broky and another impressive showing from ropz in Copenhagen was a positive sign for the international superteam.

BLAST Premier World Final not only bringing Anubis into the map pool but the AWP nerfs that see the big green down to just five bullets will be a real test of the Latvian star and the entire FaZe roster. With their permaban being Vertigo, they have the ability to play where they are more comfortable in the remaining maps or surprise other teams by daring to pick the new map to shake things up.

Outsiders | 4.60

Reigning Major champions Outsiders are in the BLAST Premier World Final thanks to the win in Rio. As a team outside of the ESL Louvre Agreement and BLAST Partner list, staying in good form is the only way Outsiders can continue to be at big events such as these from the two leading tournament organisers.

Luckily for them, nothing says strong form like winning a Major. While Outsiders’ second most picked and best overall map was Dust 2 with a 64% winrate in 2022, they are no slouches across the remaining map pool either.

Natus Vincere | 5.50

The struggles continue for Natus Vincere. Results not quite going their way, core pieces of the lineup not fully showing up and uncertainty around the roster has seen the team unable to deliver what they have in the past. Once again, not fielding a full five-man lineup, instead bringing in a sixth man from NAVI Academy for some maps this event according to their coach B1ad3 means it is hard to predict what we will see from the team.

NAVI will always be a contender thanks to s1mple, but with other teams finding stability and multiple facets of reliable firepower, the CS:GO GOAT might not be able to do enough to claim one final win in 2022 when surrounded by so many who have looked stronger in recent weeks. The removal of Dust 2 from the map pool, that NAVI had a 83.3% winrate on this year, might also be cause for concern.

Team Vitality | 6.80

The Vitality rollercoaster of 2022 is almost over for the year. After almost a year since the move from a French to international lineup with dupreeh and Magisk, a very mixed bag of results has followed, from winning ESL Pro League Season 16 less than two months ago to struggling at IEM Rio like many other top teams.

As a team that chose to avoid Ancient throughout 2022, it will be interesting to see if Vitality choose to play Anubis at BLAST Premier World Final or save most of their energy and strategies for 2023.

Liquid | 8.00

America’s only hope at BLAST Premier World Final, Liquid will be looking to make a splash to close out the year. A semifinal finish at the Fall Finals was a good step, but it’s important to remember that Liquid were able to capitalise at ESL Pro League Season 16 by making the grand final in Malta. The potential is there, it is just up to the squad to reach it and take advantage of any other teams not being 100%. YEKINDAR may well face his former teammates on Outsiders here, hoping to prove that despite their Major victory, he ended up on the real winning side with Liquid for the long run.

G2 Esports | 8.60

After bombing out of IEM Rio and failing to leave a mark in the Fall Finals, G2 Esports will have one last swing at a win at BLAST Premier World Final. The last time G2 added any silverware to their trophy cabinet was the end of 2019, over three years ago. Still without a permanent coach and relying on data analyst Swani, this has likely not been the 2022 G2 had hoped for.

They are far from the only team in a similar position and with the likes of NiKo and huNter on the roster, anything is possible, but it would surprise everyone if G2’s win drought ended in Abu Dhabi. Previous G2 lineups have made miracles happen at BLAST events so perhaps it will happen once again.

OG Esports | 17.50

OG now have the chance to pick themselves back up. Throughout 2022, degster has posted a 1.20 rating overall, with every single event seeing him finish with a positive rating. With the AWP changes, it will be crucial for degster to maintain that same level of performance at BLAST Premier World Final.

OG’s performances on Ancient this year have been strong, so it will be worth taking note of whether they also embrace Anubis in Abu Dhabi and moving forward into next year.
