A Brief History Of BLAST
BLAST Pro Series, now known as BLAST Premier, is a prominent tournament series in the world of competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). The series began in 2017, launched by RFRSH Entertainment, a Danish esports organisation. From its inception, the series aimed to innovate the esports scene, promising a unique format, a swift and dynamic viewing experience, and closer interactions between fans and teams.
The BLAST Pro Series started with a format involving six teams competing in a round-robin style tournament in one location over two days. The series' structure was designed to maximize engagement and ensure every match mattered, deviating from traditional tournament structures. The series rapidly grew in popularity and gathered some of the world's top CS:GO teams, becoming a staple of the esports calendar.
In 2020, the series was rebranded as BLAST Premier to reflect the company's global ambitions. The rebranding came with changes to the tournament format, including an increased prize pool, longer match series, and an expanded, more inclusive global circuit. The competition still prioritises fan engagement and delivers high-stakes, top-tier CS:GO action, solidifying its position as one of the most influential competitions in the CS:GO landscape.
