England host Australia in the second Test of the 2023 Ashes, looking to recover from their narrow defeat at Edgbaston and level the series at 1-1.
The bad news for Ben Stokes and his side is that Australia love it at Lord’s. The tourists have lost only two Tests there since 1934. In 39 Tests since 1884, Australia have lost only seven times.
This way for Ashes fifth Test odds.
Second Test Odds: Australia Favourites
It’s perhaps no surprise, then, that Australia are favourites to win the second Test and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
In the second Test betting odds, the Aussies are 24/25 - suggesting a probability of 51.02% of the visitors winning.
England’s odds are 7/5, meaning there’s a 41.67% chance of the hosts winning, while the draw is 18/5 - 21.74%.
Batsman Betting Odds
Joe Root was England’s best batsman in the first Test with an unbeaten 118 in the first innings and 46 in the second innings and he is favourite to be the home team’s top batsman again.
Root is 51/20, ahead of Harry Brook (21/5) and Ollie Pope (43/10).
Usman Khawaja was the Aussies’ best with the bat but he is only third-favourite to repeat those antics. Steven Smith is favourite to be the top away team batsman, with odds of 12/5 ahead of Marnus Labuschagne 16/5 and Khawaja at 18/5.
Bowler Betting
Jimmy Anderson had an underwhelming first Test in Birmingham but remains favourite to be England’s top bowler at Lord’s. The veteran paceman is 43/20 to be England’s best performer, ahead of Ollie Robinson (11/5) and Stuart Broad (47/20).
Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon shone with the ball for the Aussies last time out and they lead the betting odds ahead of the second Test.
Cummins is 41/20 to be Australia’s best bowler, ahead of Lyon at 13/5.
