Survey of Premier League fans reveals best value away days, worst for refreshments, rates local pubs and hardest ground to get to
By James McMath
Midnite conducted a survey with 1,002 Premier League match-attending fans to ask them which stadiums offer the best food, drink, pubs in the surrounding area and the best value of ticket prices.
According to the survey results, nearly 20% of supporters believe Brentford has the best-value ticket and day out.
Crystal Palace is the third highest voted for best-valued ticket and day out with 14.9% and Brighton & Hove Albion come in just behind at second place with 18.2%, but the poll seems to suggest that the Seagulls have the worst access (18.6%) to public transport and ease of visit.
Crystal Palace and Leicester tie in second place for worst transport with 14.7% of the vote, while Southampton and Leeds United take third and fourth with 14.4% and 14.3% respectively.
Old Trafford is the stadium voted for having the best transport links with 30% of the poll, ahead of Chelsea (26.1%) and their neighbours Manchester City (25%).
But it’s not all positive news for Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and the Etihad, as they have all also been voted for having the worst-valued tickets and days out according to supporters from all 20 Premier League teams.
Manchester United (15.6%) also seem to offer the worst food and drink at their stadium according to the survey, polled more than Fulham (14.2%), Leeds United (14%), Brighton & Hove Albion (13.9%) and Everton (13.5%).
Crystal Palace have also been given the verdict of having the worst pubs in the surrounding area (15%), more than Liverpool (14.4%) and Brighton & Hove Albion (14%).

A Midnite spokesperson said: “Brentford are well regarded as a club for the people so it’s no surprise that they have the best-valued tickets and price of a day out.
“Arguably, Manchester United’s money-making success is generated from their higher-than-average prices which has led to fans voting them the worst value.
“The Amex Stadium is on the outskirts of Brighton so it can be trickier to make your way there than it would other Premier League stadiums.”
