Ahead of the 2023 League of Legends season, we take a look at the confirmed and rumoured rosters for LEC teams.

Astralis

  • Finn | Top
  • 113 | Jungler
  • Dajor | Middle
  • Kobbe | Bot
  • JeongHoon | Support

Astralis have made changes to their toplane and jungle heading into the first ever LEC Winter Split. Former CLG and Excel top Finn and Karmine Corp jungler 113 will round out the roster. Finn’s departure from Excel last season saw him discover he had been replaced by Odoamne on the lineup ahead of going to Korea for a bootcamp. This meant Astralis got one of the most praised toplaners of 2022 for free heading into next year.

While Rekkles commanded the most attention on Karmine Corp, 113 is a name many who did not follow the LFL might not know. On paper, 113’s statistics are not incredible and many viewing him as one of the weaker junglers in the LEC right now, his LEC debut alongside Dajor, Kobbe and JeongHoon may surprise people.

Excel Esports

  • Odoamne | Top
  • Xerxe | Jungler
  • Vetheo | Middle
  • Patrik | Bot
  • Targamas | Support

Excel have rebuilt their roster for 2023, keeping only Patrik for a third straight season. Joining him in botlane is Targamas, who spent last season on G2 Esports. In mid will be Vetheo, a player who claimed the EU Spring Split MVP and saw himself onto the 1st All-Pro Team at the start of 2022.

A Romanian power duo in toplaner Odoamme and jungler Xerxe will be interesting to watch, with Odoamme being one of the first ten players to ever hit 1000 kills in the LEC and Xerxe being a versatile and incredibly naturally skilled jungler with an impressive champion pool.

Fnatic

  • Wunder | Top
  • Razork | Jungler
  • Humanoid | Middle
  • Rekkles | Bot (rumoured)
  • Rhuckz | Support (rumoured)

The return of the king to Fnatic seems imminent, with rumours suggesting that Rekkles will be coming back to the organisation as their ADC. After initially expressing that he would consider roleswapping to support, it seems that Rhuckz, former Fnatic Rising/TQ support, will be filling the role alongside the King in the North.

The rest of the lineup remains unchanged for Fnatic, with Wunder, Razork and Humanoid all set to remain on the team for 2023. Having played together under G2, Wunder and Rekkles will be once again united, this time under the rival banner.

G2 Esports (rumoured)

  • Broken Blade | Top
  • Yike | Jungler
  • caPs | Middle
  • Hans Sama | Bot
  • Mikyx | Support

An era has ended at G2 Esports, with Jankos departing the roster in 2022. With the loss of Perkz, Rekkles, Jankos and Wunder in recent years and an inability to replicate the success seen with past lineups, there is bittersweet feelings ahead of Mikyx’s return.

With big shoes to fill, Yike will take up jungling for the samurai while acclaimed botlaner Hans Sama prepares to carry alongside Broken Blade and caPs. As Europe’s most successful organisation within League of Legends, there is little room for forgiveness; 2023 feels like glory or bust for G2.

KOI

  • Szygenda | Top
  • Malrang | Jungler
  • Larssen | Middle
  • Comp | Bot
  • Trymbi | Support

A merger between Rogue, the LEC 2022 Summer Split champions, and KOI, an organisation founded by Ibai Llanos and Gerard Piqué, sees the latter debut in the LEC for 2023. Malrang, Larssen, Comp and Trymbi all see their contracts carried over and will represent KOI moving forward. One of the best in the LEC in recent years, many will have high hopes for KOI to make an impact out the gates in the Winter Split.

With Odoamme going to Excel, new signing for toplane Szygenda is the only new face on the roster, coming off of a previous season with Team Vitality before being moved to their academy team Vitality.Bee.

MAD Lions

  • Chasy | Top
  • Elyoya | Jungler
  • Nisqy | Middle
  • Carzzy | Bot
  • Hylissang | Support

Once the pride of Europe, MAD Lions’ new roster is looking to once again rise to the top of the LEC. Retaining Elyoya and Nisqy, the rest of the team has been shaken up heading into the 2023 Winter Split.

Carzzy joins from Team Vitality as one half of the botlane while support Hylissang has made his first move since joining Fnatic back in 2018. To complete the roster, Chasy will be in the toplane after an initial European stint on X7 Esports in the NLC last year.

SK Gaming (rumoured)

  • Irrelevant | Top
  • Markoon | Jungler
  • Sertuss | Middle
  • Exakick | Bot
  • Doss | Support

Sertuss is the only former SK Gaming player to remain in this new-look version of the squad. Toplaner Irrelevant spent 2022 on Misfits while Markoon comes from Excel Esports, two teams who narrowly failed to make playoffs in Summer. Having placed eighth in both the Spring and Summer themselves, SK will be seeking improved placements in 2023.

Exakick and Doss may be a familiar duo in the botlane for those who followed the LFL and European Masters last year, as the pair were part of the strong LDLC OL team that consistently performed across the year’s events.

Team BDS (rumoured)

  • Adam | Top
  • Sheo | Jungler
  • NUCLEARINT | Middle
  • Crownshot | Bot
  • Labrov | Support

After an underwhelming debut in 2022, Team BDS have kept faith in the majority of their lineup heading into the first Winter Split. French trio Adam, Sheo and NUCLEARINT all remain on the team alongside Crownshot, with the only change coming to the support role.

Labrov was a mainstay at Team Vitality since 2020, but his transfer to Team BDS gives the once EU Rookie of the Split a fresh opportunity to show what he has learned over the last three years of competition in Europe.

Team Heretics

  • Evi | Top
  • Jankos | Jungler
  • Ruby | Middle
  • Jackspektra | Bot
  • Mersa | Support

The signing of Jankos by Team Heretics in their first outing in the LEC alone is huge for the organisation. Bringing a wealth of experience, skill and popularity, there was no better option to draw eyes to the debut of another new brand name in the region.

Jankos is not the only 1995 veteran on the team, toplaner Evi has been a high-level League of Legends player for almost a decade. On the other hand, Jackspektra and Mersa bring down the average team age with their youth, but make up for that with more than capable ability. Completing the lineup is Ruby, who was formerly known as Fact, who has competed across numerous different regions and leagues in his League of Legends career.

Team Vitality (rumoured)

  • Photon | Top
  • Bo | Jungler
  • Perkz | Middle
  • Neon | Bot
  • Kaiser | Support

While recent memory only dubs Team Vitality as the superteam that wasn’t, new faces on the roster show that there is still opportunity for the bees to fly higher than before. Headlined still by Perkz, record-holder for all-time most EU/LEC titles with 8 under his belt, expectations will never not be high for any team he plays for.

Moved from being the substitute jungler, Bo will be a mainstay member of the active lineup. Kaiser’s reign in MAD Lions has ended and he will join Neon in the botlane for 2023 and T1 Challengers toplaner Photon will be making his LEC debut with Vitality next year.
