Book of Ra Magic is Greentube's 2018 update to the game that created the book slot format. The original Book of Ra appeared in 2005 and every expanding symbol game since owes something to it, including Book of Dead and Rise of Merlin. This version keeps the Egyptian tomb setting and the five-reel, ten-payline structure, and changes one thing that matters.

That change is the retrigger. In Book of Ra Deluxe the Free Spins round selects a single expanding symbol and that is what you play with. Here, landing three more book symbols during the round awards another set of spins and selects an additional expanding symbol, and this can build as far as nine. Maximum win is 5,000x stake.

How to Play Book of Ra Magic

Wins pay left to right from reel one. The premium symbols pay from two matching symbols on a line while the card royals need three or more. Stakes at Midnite start from £0.02 per spin.

The book symbol does two jobs. As a wild it substitutes for any regular symbol, and as a scatter it pays in its own right and triggers the Free Spins round when three or more land anywhere on the reels. Ten free spins are awarded regardless of how many books triggered the round. Before the spins begin, one regular symbol is selected at random to become the expanding symbol. Whenever enough of them land, they fill their reel and pay across all active lines, and the reels do not need to be adjacent.

The reels sit inside a torch-lit burial chamber with carved stone columns either side and hieroglyphs across the back wall.
