About Mines

Mines is an instant-win game from TaDa Gaming, distributed through Light & Wonder. It is not a reel slot. Based on the classic Minesweeper idea, it presents a 5x5 grid of 25 hidden tiles, some holding gems and some holding bombs. You choose how many bombs are on the grid, then reveal tiles one at a time, building a multiplier with each safe pick, and cash out whenever you choose. Reveal a bomb, and the round ends.

The appeal is control over risk: more bombs mean bigger multipliers but a higher chance of ending the round. At Midnite the RTP is 97% and the maximum win is 10,000x your stake. TaDa's version adds a Bonus Wheel and jackpot prizes on top of the core game, covered below.

How to Play Mines

Set your stake and choose how many bombs to place on the 25-tile grid, from 1 to 24. Then reveal tiles one at a time. Each safe tile lifts your current multiplier, and you can stop and take your winnings after any safe pick, or keep going for more. If you reveal a bomb, the round ends and the stake is lost. Stakes at Midnite start from £1.00 per round.

The number of bombs is the main lever. Fewer bombs make each pick safer but the multipliers grow slowly, more bombs make each pick riskier but the multipliers climb faster. TaDa's version also includes a Bonus Wheel that can award progressive rewards and a fixed Mini Jackpot, adding a jackpot layer to the standard Minesweeper play.

Mines Features

  • Adjustable bombs: Choose from 1 to 24 bombs on the 25-tile grid to set your own risk level.
  • Cash out anytime: Take your winnings after any safe tile, or keep revealing for a higher multiplier.
  • Rising multiplier: Each safe tile lifts the multiplier, with bigger steps when more bombs are in play.
  • Bonus Wheel and jackpots: A Bonus Wheel can award progressive rewards and a fixed Mini Jackpot worth 3x the bet.

Mines RTP, Volatility and Key Info

Before you play, the figures worth knowing on Mines:

  • RTP: 97%
  • Game type: Instant-win game
  • Grid: 5x5, 25 tiles, with 1 to 24 player-set bombs
  • Win mechanic: Reveal safe tiles to build a multiplier, then cash out
  • Max win: 10,000x stake
  • Minimum stake at Midnite: £1.00 per round
  • Volatility: Player-adjustable through the number of bombs
  • Mobile: Available on iOS and Android
  • Provider: TaDa Gaming (distributed via Light & Wonder)

The 97% RTP is the long-term theoretical return across many rounds, and it sits above the typical slot figure. Mines has no fixed volatility, since the risk is set by the player: more bombs raise the variance, fewer bombs lower it, without changing the long-term return much. The route to the 10,000x top win runs through clearing many tiles on a high-bomb setting, or through the jackpot prizes on the Bonus Wheel.

Mines Theme and Symbols

There is no narrative theme. The screen shows the 5x5 grid of tiles, which flip to reveal gems or bombs, against a dark background. Presentation is clean and functional, built around the reveal-and-decide loop rather than around characters.

The working elements are the tiles, the gems and the bombs, plus the Bonus Wheel. The bombs are the ones that matter most, since how many you place sets the whole risk-and-reward balance of a round.
