About Honey Rush

Honey Rush is Play'n GO's honeycomb slot, and the grid is genuinely hexagonal rather than a square one dressed up. Seven columns run 4-5-6-7-6-5-4 for 37 positions, and because each hexagon touches six neighbours rather than four, clusters form in shapes that would be impossible on a conventional grid.

There is no Free Spins round at all. Instead a Rush Meter charges as winning clusters land, and passing its four levels releases Colony features that plant sticky wilds and generate large clusters of matching symbols. Everything resets the moment a drop fails to produce a win. Maximum win is 9,000x stake.

How to Play Honey Rush

Five or more matching symbols connecting adjacently form a winning cluster. Because the positions are hexagonal, adjacency runs in six directions rather than four. Winning symbols are removed, new ones drop in from above, and the sequence continues while wins keep forming. Stakes at Midnite start from £0.20 per spin.

Every symbol involved in a win charges the Rush Meter beside the grid. Passing each of its four levels queues a feature: sticky wilds carrying multipliers get added to the grid, and the Colony features generate clusters of matching symbols outright. Once a drop produces no win, the round ends, the grid returns to normal and the meter empties. Progress has to be made inside a single spin sequence.

Honey Rush Features

  • Hexagonal Grid: Seven columns in a 4-5-6-7-6-5-4 formation, 37 positions in total, with each hexagon touching six neighbours.
  • Cluster Pays: Wins are formed by 5 or more matching symbols connecting adjacently. There are no paylines.
  • Cascading Wins: Winning symbols are removed and replaced from above, so a single spin can produce a long chain of wins.
  • Rush Meter: Charges with every symbol involved in a win. It has four levels, and reaching each one queues a feature.
  • Sticky Wilds: Added to the grid as the meter charges, carrying multipliers of up to 3x that apply to any win they form part of.
  • Drone Colony: The first Colony feature, adding a sticky wild to the grid.
  • Worker Colony: Generates a cluster of 7 to 15 matching symbols.
  • Queen Colony: The final level, generating a cluster of 20 to 37 matching symbols, which can cover the entire grid.
  • Random Colony Triggers: The Drone and Queen Colony features can also fire at random after a losing spin.
  • Meter Reset: Once a drop produces no win, the grid reverts and the meter empties, so progress cannot be carried between spins.

Honey Rush Theme and Symbols

The hexagonal grid hangs suspended above a pair of branches, with a blurred green forest behind it and shafts of light coming through the canopy. Play'n GO went for calm rather than energy, and the score stays gentle throughout, which sits at odds with how volatile the game actually is.

Low-value symbols are four flowers: a violet, a daisy, a sunflower and a rose. Above them sit bronze, silver and gold coins, with a blue diamond at the top of the paytable paying 200x stake for a cluster of 35 or more. The honeypot is the wild. Because the diamond needs an enormous cluster to reach its top payout, the Queen Colony feature generating up to 37 matching symbols at once is the only realistic route to it.
