Short answer?
Not some dusty gambling giant from 2003.
Midnite is owned by the people who built it, plus a stack of serious investors backing where it’s going next.
Let’s dive into the details…
So… who actually owns Midnite?
Midnite was founded in 2018 by Nick Wright and Daniel Qu, two guys who’d already built in the space (they worked on fantasy sports product Dribble with Sky Bet before this).
Nick Wright is now CEO, and both he and Dan are still very much front and centre in the day-to-day running of the business..
So yeah, we’re not a faceless corporation; we’re a founder-led company. That matters more than it sounds, because it means the people running it are the same people who built it.
We’re not owned by a big gambling brand
Midnite isn’t owned by:
- Bet365
- Flutter (Paddy Power / Sky Bet)
- Entain
- Any of the usual suspects
And that’s kind of the point.
We’re here to shake up the industry and make it up its game. We’re not in the business of tired legacy apps and being hamstrung by ‘heritage’; we’re built to be a challenger brand that delivers what bettors have been after for decades, right now.
Backed by serious investors
Now, while our founders are key, they’re not doing this alone.
We’ve raised multiple funding rounds, with backing from some big names:
- The Raine Group (led their Series A)
- Play Ventures
- Discerning Capital
- Makers Fund
- Venrex
- Big Bets
We’ve currently raised $35M+ in total, including a $10M Series B in 2025, with even bigger plans ahead.
That means smart money is betting on Midnite too.
What about Midnite Casino?
It’s the same story. There’s no separate owner for casino vs sportsbook, it all sits under the same Midnite business.
So whether you’re betting on football or spinning slots, it’s the same people behind it.
Why this actually matters
Ownership isn’t just trivia, it tells you what kind of product you’re using.
Midnite being founder-led, VC-backed, and independent from legacy bookies is exactly why it feels different.
No bloated platforms.
No “we’ve always done it this way” energy.
No pretending to be modern.
We built is this way from day one.
